A Thousand Little Wishes...

Fantastic Mr. Fox?

To say I have been excited about this movie coming out is a bit of an understatement.  I love everything about the thought of it.  I love the book.  I love the stop-motion animation.  I love the Fox.  I even love the tagline- "Dig the life fantastic."

But it has been receiving less than stellar reviews- mostly from Brits who are pissed about the characters being American-ized.  Which is probably super annoying.  I don't know.  But now I'm nervous about it.

Silly.  I know.  But I do indeed get nervous about movies.  I guess because I get so attached to the stories.  If the movie is disappointing, I take it almost personally.  It's crushing.  

I'm so hoping Mr. Fox can live up to his name.

I *Heart* Goin' to the Movies

We had our 2nd date night of the week last night.  I know, I know.  It's not fair.  Lee's peeps live five minutes away, so we have free babysitters.  And they get to sleep-over.  It is wonderful.

So, last night we went to the Alamo Drafthouse to see 500 Days of Summer.  It was so cute!  I highly recommend it.  And I got to have a Live Oak Hefe Weizen (with 3 lemons) and a steak sandwich with fries while we watched cuties Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt fall in and out of love.  It was definitely a lovely evening.  

And we saw the preview for Whip It.  I can't wait!  I love Drew Barrymore.  And Ellen Page.  And who doesn't love Roller Derby?  

On the other hand, the preview for The Time Traveler's Wife makes me panic a little each time I see it.  This is definitley one of my top 10 all time favorite books.  I.  LOVED.  IT.  Every bit of it.  And the movie does NOT look like it's going to live up to the book.  It makes me anxious.  But, of course, I'll have to see it.  But YOU should read the book before you see it.  Don't (DON'T!) let the movie be your only experience with this wonderful, wonderful story.  Read it.  You'll love it.
