Heading out of town for the weekend? A quick trip to visit the grandparents? The thought of packing getting you down?
Never fear- just throw it all in the laundry basket!
My good friend Dani, gave me this tip. It's now my favorite way to pack. It's perfect for trips to see relatives or friends, or to a beach house or lake house. I'm not so sure I'd want to haul it into a hotel, say...through the lobby. But for those quick little family trips here and there, it's pure genius.
A laundry basket can hold a lot. Way more than a suitcase. And you can pile it up. High. I stack my hair dryer, make-up bag, books, or whatever on top. And when it's time to go home, all your dirty clothes from the weekend are already where they belong! I don't know about you, but I tend to leave those bags full of dirty clothes sitting around for a few days before I unpack and wash everything. But when it's all in the basket, I almost always throw it into the wash as soon as we get home.
It may not be so classy, but it sure is handy!
Yes...the laundry basket. It is a great way to pack. Whole Foods bags work really well too. Not as sturdy, but will do in a pinch. Like I say...there is a little trailer park in all of us.

This is what I like to call "brills". Not to be confused with prill.
